Personality:
Adaline was raised a well breed lady from birth, due to her mother, she always carried the graceful air around her. Adalene is incredibly curious with a natural thirst for knowledge, her inability to drop a subject until she is satisfied coupled with a stubborn nature that she got from her father. She has a bright intellect due to the logical games she played and the large amount of reading she did as a child. Adalene always seems to have a burst of energy at random times as a child she would be running around, climbing trees and riding horses, this energy was then directed into dancing and it can be seen sometimes in her form when she is being lazy.
After her mother’s death Adalene's personality changed slightly, she became more guarded around men from the fun flirty girl she once was. Adalene has a mostly even temper, still called a sweet girl by most people, she takes things in her stride but she has a few buttons that will see her in an instant temper. Once someone is on her bad-side she will hold a callous unforgiving view to them, until they change her mind, she will not hold grudges forever. Highly intuitive she can pick up on others signals and emotions – though she doesn’t always take them into consideration and can be surprisingly oblivious when those emotions relate to her directly
‘Ada’ to those she calls friends and family, does stand by them, she has a strong loyalty to them and it normally remains unwavered. However in that lot there are only a few to trust with every fibre that know everything about her, Sometimes Adalene rather keep to herself or talk to her Dog Odysseus when she is home about how she really feels knowing that he listens but doesn't speak.

Biography:
Adalene was born in the wonderful sunny French country side, in a decent sized estate owned by the family name. She was born into an aristocratic family and wanted for nothing as a baby and a young girl, she was also the apple of her father’s eye, always sitting on his knee before she could walk. Being the youngest girl, also meant that she didn’t have a lot of expectation on her shoulders, she could run around and climb bookcases and tree’s without being scolded too much. As a little child Adalene was always fascinated with the pretty pictures of girls in tutu’s and when they went as a family to an opera in the big city, she became hooked on ballet more with how graceful the dancers where. Adalene would run around the house and dance around the servants, it would annoy her eldest siblings to no end but she didn’t care.
Adalene’s mother encouraged her father to heir a ballet instructor to teach the child, insisting that it is just a phase and would else help in teaching the active and mischief child pose and grace. They had ended up heiring a lady from Italy Sophia, who used to be a dancer in her home country but was getting too old. Adalene loved Sophia’s classes and was lucky that the estate was big enough that the hall was turned into a dance studio. Adalene’s mother would sometimes sit in on the classes to watch her little girl and also prevent Lucas from tormenting the little dancer. Sophia encouraged Adalene in the arts, taking her to the theatre but sitting with the normal crowed and not the aristocratic crowd.
Adalene as she got older started delving into other passions, playing chess and cards with her father, riding and reading mystery novels; but ballet remained her first she was completely upset when she could not dance for a months after an accident. While riding with her brother through the bush trails, he ended up riding ahead being rather mean to the early-teen girl. While trying to find her brother an animal ran across the path of her horse spooking it and throwing Adalene off the horse and onto the ground where sharp rocks ended up hurting her. Though the horse had ran off and in a fair amount of pain, Adalene made it home hobbling freaking out her mother and receiving a disappointed look from Sophia. As per doctors order she had to stay away from intense physical active to heal.
Using this time Adalene’s mother brought her into society since both her brother and sister had been attending events for a while. She would inwardly cringe at the thought of attending any of the high society events at others homes, where she watched other young women dance with young men; that was until she could join into the dancing.
Tragedy struck the family again not long after society introduction for Adalene, she was sixteen and was at a formal event with the family when she noticed her mother coughing and hiding it from everyone. On the way home the cold weather didn’t help her mother and she kept coughing it wasn’t until her older sister mentioned that there was blood on the glove that the grave situation set in. The Children were kept away from their mother as three different doctors visited the estate stating that she had tuberculosis and that if there father did not want the children sick he should send them away.
The next day after saying goodbye to their mother whom looked pale as the sheets, Adalene, her brother and her sister where escorted by Sophia and some trusted servants to a town house in Paris that there father had brought, they were to stay there until their mother had gotten better. The father visited a lot but left Lucas in charge, as chaperone for the girls.
Trying not to think of her sick Mother Adalene convinced Sophia to up the training, losing herself in dancing in hopes she does not think of the worse. As the days went on Adalene kept progressing and getting better, so much so she recommended that she joined a ballet troupe. Adalene was not sure if she was able to due to her own position in society and the expectations that she had on her, so she did the only thing she could think of and wrote a letter to her mother.
Adalene was speaking to managers and the ballet mistress at the opera house about the odd circumstances, while she awaited a response from her mother. Sadly one morning the response she got was from her father sending for the children to come home. The children all came home to a funeral, none of them had been informed that there mother had passed on, it upset her brother a lot to the point he did not speak to his father the whole time he was there. Her sister Marie was shocked it could clearly be seen, her sister withdrew into herself became quite. While Adalene was mad, and visibly so, not at her father but the fact that she wasn’t there in her mother’s last moment. Adalene sat through the whole funeral with clenched fists.
After the funeral Adalene’s father handed her a letter once everyone else had gone to sleep, it was written by her Mother and in it, it said how proud she was and that she was lucky to raise a daughter like her, it also spoke that she had to follow her heart and if she wanted to dance professionally then that is something she should grab with both hands. This made Adalene smile, the next morning everyone was packing up the estate house as her father was going to travel back with them. Though Sophia mentioned that she should give it a week, Adalene refused and didn’t want to wait and took up the ballet mistress and the manager’s offer on joining the troupe.
Adalene is currently eighteen and has been with the ballet company for 3 years, getting lessons from the ballet mistress as well as Sophia as well, she has her eyes set on being a prima absolute and besting La Sorelli, though she doesn’t show the rivalry to public; it is something inside of her to push her forward.

Adalene was resting her arm on the dark wood writing desk in her room of the town house she was staying at with her father and sister. She was staring down at yet another letter from her dear brother, where in his hurried scrawl said he was in need of more money. She flicked the letter aside and rested her head on both arms now trying to think what to do, she was trying to keep her father out of the know, on how horrible his son was. The money she earned from her passion of dancing meant that Lucas wasn’t using the family fortune, she started giving him some money in hopes that soon he would learn from his actions. Her dear friend Eleanor knew about the situation, she is currently the only person Adalene pours her dear heart out too. The words of advice from her friend was to let him suffer, to cut him loose and keep her earnings for herself for the future ballet school.
No matter how much of a good idea this is, the problem is the family status and though Lucas is a catch because of his own title, he can very much damage the family’s reputation and any hope for any of them for a decent life with his gambling.
Adalene took a deep breath in pondering the issue and it was if on cue; like in a stage play the door opened. Her older sister was the only one in the house that didn’t knock at all, she felt the soft small hand on her shoulder and rustling of the skirt settling on the chair beside her.
A soft voice spoke, while Adalene kept her head down “Are you tried sister? Did todays practice wear you out?” She waited for Adalene to speak and only got a turn of the head, Adalene’s eyes meeting her sisters blue ones. She was lucky to have her mother’s eyes, but Adalene had her fathers which she always thought made her look plainer. “Why don’t you stop if this is how it wears you down and just enjoy the dancing at the balls and events”
Adalene screwed her face up slightly, no one in her family really understood why she danced professionally. She had the luxury to do so being the youngest child and it was her passion and her decision, no one else’s.
Sitting up and looking at her sister, she shook her head “You don’t understand or get it, dancing the ballet is different from the waltzes where we are forced to make polite talk with men who only see with their eyes at a pretty thing. I am not tried of the ballet, if you wished to know I had received news from Eleanor I did not like and was taking a moment for myself before I went to do more practice”. Adalene rarely lied to her sister and when she did it was only for a good reason, she also now had an excuse to push the letters from Lucas out of Maires sights.
Marie watched her sister get up and lock the letters away before picking up the ballet slippers that sat on the bed “You just came back from the opera’s practice session, why are you doing more?”
Adalene moved to the door and opened it indicating to her sister that she was being dismissed “I practice so much because it makes perfect and I want to become a prima absolute, the top dancer at the opera house and I cannot do that sitting around. Now Maire, please I have to go I will be back at tea and you can lecture me again there”. Adalene watched Maire get up from the chair and watched her shoulders sag slightly; she passed by her out into the hallway before gracefully moving down to her room. Shaking her head once again Adalene closed her bedroom door and moved out to head out and meet her own private tutor at the door.
