February has ended, and with the coming of March, it also marks the coming of Spring on the 20th. Spring has often been a time of year associated with youth, rebirth, and with nature. For many though, Spring can have a vast multitude of meanings, each unique to their own specific holder. With all of this talk of new beginnings and new seasons, I think it’s time for some new prompts! Remember that completing a response to a prompt is worth 15 francs. After you have posted your response, you should post in the IOU list to request your due francs.
OPTION ONE – MELT INTO SPRING!
“Silver white Winters that melt into Springs: these are a few of my favorite things!” What are your characters favorite things about Spring? What makes these things their favorite? White down at least five of your characters favorite things about the season of Spring. You should write your response in paragraph form with at least one paragraph to explain why each particular thing is something your character likes about Spring. The things they like can be sappy, cliché, and romantic, or off-the-wall, obscure, ironic, and sarcastic – it doesn’t really matter so long as it is something that your character specifically likes about Spring. Your response must be at least five paragraphs in length (one for each of the five reasons), and contain proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
OPTION TWO – YOU LOOK LIKE SPRING!
“You look like… Spring! No—better! You look like… a young Spring! Like a Spring that is not yet even Spring! Like a Spring that is about to be Spring…. That is Winter!—No! No, Spring! Definitely Spring!….” Who is “Spring” to your character, whether by looks, by place in their life, by both, or by some other means completely? Who is Spring in your character’s eyes? Be sure to explain your character’s position on the matter. Your response must be at least three paragraphs in length and contain proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
OPTION THREE – SPRING IS IN THE AIR!
“La, la, la, la, la! Spring is in the air, and I am a flower with nothing interesting to say.” One thing often associated with the coming of Spring is the sprouting of all of the plants after Winter, and the blooming of all of the various types of flowers. What is your character’s absolute favorite flower? Is there a specific color of this flower is their favorite? What is it that makes this particular type of flower special enough to your character to make it their favorite? Does it hold any sort of sentimental value to them? Now write about your character receiving some of their favorite type of flower (it can be one or more) from an anonymous gifter. Who do they believe gave them these flowers? Is there any sort of occasion for the flowers? What is your character’s reaction to the flowers? Your response should be at least four paragraphs in length and contain proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Try to answer all of the questions in this prompt option with your response.
